Some Context
• Over the summer of 2024, I tackled this promo as a long-term project with FOX Entertainment’s Creative Advertising department. Working under producer
Meredith Lee, I gained firsthand experience in the role of a writer/producer and learned the ins and outs of crafting a promotional video. Meanwhile, editor
George Hernandez introduced me to Avid Media Composer, providing valuable editing expertise in graphic design, color correction, audio selection and
correction, animation, etc.
• Thanks to the guidance of these two incredible mentors, I had the opportunity to write, produce, and edit my very own promotional spot for the network’s new
drama procedural, Murder in a Small Town!
• Designed as a paid social campaign, the spot was shared across various social media platforms, including official FOX pages, local affiliates, and cast
members’ profiles, to drive buzz around the show’s premiere.
Marketing Objectives
• Stand out from typical crime procedurals by emphasizing the character-driven murders, the picturesque seaside town setting, and evoking a warm, cozy-mystery feel.
• Present Karl Alberg as the perfect FOX protagonist, setting him apart from other TV detectives by highlighting his calm, likable demeanor and unconventional yet
intuitive way of solving cases.
• Find unique ways to engage fans of the original book series, ensuring they feel acknowledged and excited about this adaptation.
